About the organization:

Blue Forest is a conservation finance non-profit founded in 2015 that is focused on advancing ecosystem restoration through scientific research, financial innovation, and collaborative partnerships. Since 2018, Blue Forest has managed investor capital through its flagship financial product, the Forest Resilience Bond (FRB), which deploys private capital to finance forest restoration projects to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires. More recently, Blue Forest has also established Blue Forest Asset Management (BFAM), an investment management platform connecting investors to compelling, mission-aligned opportunities in a broader set of asset classes beyond FRB projects, such as private equity and private credit investments.

Position Description: 

Our Design and Infographic Fellow will be integral across Blue Forest, working closely with the science and research department, the finance team, and the project development teams to design compelling infographics for key external stakeholders. The aim is that by the end of the fellowship, the Fellow will have developed ~5 key infographics relaying the work of Blue Forest ready for use across the organization, as well as assist in key presentation deck development. This role requires the ability to communicate both finance and science.

Desired Qualifications:

Blue Forest will prioritize the following qualifications in the hiring process; however, we do not expect candidates to fulfill all criteria and encourage all interested candidates to apply.
-Experience in graphic design and infographic development
-Ability to effectively communicate complex science and financial information visually
-Exposure to forestry, ecosystem restoration, conservation finance, and/or innovative finance is a plus
-Previous experience developing pitch decks is a plus
Interest in environmental conservation and climate resilience
-Demonstrated experience in Canva
-Comfortable knowledge of Slack, Zoom, Google Suite, and Asana
-Dedicated work ethic, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently

Time Commitment: ~5-10 hours/week
