About the Organization

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is a global fellowship of 352 national churches present in 120 countries, with a total membership of about 600 million Christians (Protestant and Orthodox). WCC is the broadest and most inclusive among the many organized expressions of the modern ecumenical movement, a movement whose goal is Christian unity. WCC works on all the issues enshrined in the 17 SDGs and beyond, since its establishment in 1948. WCC has a special focus on climate change, land, water and food justice related issues.

Fellowship Description:

The intern will support the virtual advocacy efforts related to Land, Water, and Food Justice of the World Council of Churches, specifically through the Commission on Climate Justice and Sustainable Development. Responsibilities will include assisting with editing, report writing, documentation, and research on relevant issues. This role will also involve contributing to the production of newsletters and research publications, as well as helping to organize webinars on these topics. Additionally, any support in fundraising for these projects would be greatly appreciated.


Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include a Master's level degree, but candidates with a graduate or Bachelor’s degree are also encouraged to apply.


Time Commitment: 20 hours / week
