About the organization: 

BIOSORRA, a disruptive carbon removal scale-up biochar company, is looking for an intern to join its team of innovators. BIOSORRA owns a patented pyrolysis machine that can convert biomass into biochar and energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing soil fertility for agriculture. We are looking to incorporate a part-time intern to support the management team in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to: fundraising, grant writing, and supporting sales, marketing, and operations teams.
We are the first scalable biochar producer in Kenya and we exist to support organic farming. We are backed up by several reputable organizations, including XPRIZE from Elon Musk Foundation. We have a young spirit and mature commitment towards our goals. We stick to our principles:

Position Description: 

You will be responsible for:
- Support CFO with Pre-Series A fundraising efforts
- Effectively understand company operations and business model for grant writing from world renowned foundations, government institutions, and non-profit organizations
- Draft, proofread, and edit documents, reports, and presentations
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Generate reports and analyses as required by the CEO and CFO
- Adapt to changing priorities and demands in a dynamic work environment

Desired Qualifications: 

- Strong academic background, currently studying a University Degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Business or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- At ease with Microsoft office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc), and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc)
- A creative and innovative mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- Fast learner in gsheets and modeling learning capabilities to support CFO's financial modeling
- Ability to work fast with Perplexity.Ai, chatgpt or similar
- Extremely organized and neat
- US Timezone desired

Time Commitment:  30 hours/week
