Fellowship Description:

The C40 Latin America team is composed by over 25 staff and is responsible for managing the delivery of climate action for the 13 C40 cities in the region. The team is led by the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director, along with the Director of Implementation, who are ultimately responsible for the implementation of cities’ Climate Action Plans, C40’s Regional Business Plan, Leadership Standards and High Impact Actions, and the objectives agreed with government, philanthropic and commercial donors.

The team is currently developing the Regional Business Plan and identifying along with the cities in the region and the diverse C40 sectoral teams the priority areas for climate action implementation. We are seeking an intern to support the development of the portfolio of sectoral projects for C40 in Latin America, including waste, mobility, energy, air quality, green job creation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation and management of initiatives that promote sustainable urban development in the region.

Key responsibilities:

Assist in the development of a methodology to conceive and identify a portfolio of priority projects focused on climate action in Latin American cities.

Support the collection and analysis of data related to ongoing projects and desired priorities from C40 cities.

Collaborate with regional teams to develop proposals that highlight the potential impact of sectoral initiatives.

Contribute to the preparation of presentations, briefings, and other communication materials for fundraising efforts with external stakeholders.

Assist in coordinating meetings related to the portfolio development, including logistics and follow-up activities.


Qualifications:

Strong passion for climate action and sustainability, with a demonstrated commitment to addressing environmental challenges and urban issues in Latin America.

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or a related field.

Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.

Proficiency in English; Spanish and / or Portuguese is a plus.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.


Time Commitment: 20 hours / week
