Nabil Haque

Research Fellow, Stockholm Environment Institute

Nabil Haque is an environmental professional with expertise in environmental policy, development cooperation, climate finance, technology diffusion and innovation systems. He is currently serving as a Research Fellow at Stockholm Environment Institute – Asia center.  His doctoral research at Stony Brook University focused on the role of development agencies in facilitating climate technology diffusion. The motivation for this line of research came from his previous experience promoting cleaner production in the textile and brick sector of Bangladesh. Before going back to graduate school, he was an environmental advisor at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Bangladesh. Prior to that, he was involved in developing projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Other consulting roles covers working on environmental health, environmental regulatory gaps and capacity building of government officials. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master’s degree in Environmental Resource Policy from the George Washington University.
