Litokne Kabua
My name is Litokne Kabua (he/him), and I’m a junior at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln majoring in Economics with a minor in Environmental Studies. I’m from the Marshall Islands, where I’ve seen the real impacts of climate change on my community. As a Global Youth Leader with Heirs to Our Ocean, I work to raise youth voices in global climate discussions and push for justice for frontline communities. I’m especially interested in climate policy, economic resilience, and sustainable development for small island nations. I care deeply about making sure underrepresented communities are heard and that traditional knowledge is respected in global solutions. In my free time, I love fishing, canoeing, and free-diving, activities that keep me connected to my culture and the ocean. I’m excited to be part of the GWMP fellowship and look forward to learning and working with others who care about making a difference.
