Diana Quilumba
Diana Quilumba Dutan is an Afro-Ecuadorian Earth and Environmental Scientist passionate about climate action and social justice. She is a Fulbright Ph.D. student in Environmental Social Science at Arizona State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Geoscience from Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam and a postgraduate specialization in Tropical Landscapes Restoration from Yale University. Diana has experience in forest conservation, restoration, and sustainable resource management with Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities in the Tropical Andes. As a first-generation university student and advocate for environmental justice, she brings a deep understanding of inclusive climate action. Diana is skilled in research, storytelling, community engagement, and intercultural communication. She has served as a research fellow at Universidad Ikiam and international organizations such as GIZ, BOS+, and Conservation International. She is interested in nature-based solutions, community-led restoration, climate resilience, and expanding access to environmental opportunities for underrepresented populations.
