Fellowship Description:

The Zero-Emission Bus Rapid-deployment Accelerator (ZEBRA) is a partnership led by C40 and the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), funded by ClimateWorks Foundation. The partnership was launched in 2019 to accelerate the deployment of zero emission buses in major Latin American cities by overcoming political, technical and financial barriers to this market transition. Since 2023, the Partnership also has been supporting cities in South Africa and India in their transition towards zero emission bus fleets.
The ZEBRA Latam team is seeking an intern to support the team with technical research, data collection and general support to zero emission mobility projects in Latin America. The person might also work in collaboration with the rest of the regional team in Latin America, the transport team, and other C40 colleagues working on transport, finance, air quality, business engagement etc., to accelerate the deployment of zero emission buses in Latin America.

Responsibilities:

Support the ZEBRA team and other staff in:
- Assisting with ad hoc activities, including communications tasks such as drafting and disseminating newsletters, case studies, and other technical materials

- Conducting research to inform team strategies and city support efforts related to zero-emission public transport

- Contributing to the planning and delivery of events, as needed

- Performing other tasks as assigned to support the team’s overall objectives


Qualifications:

- The candidate should demonstrate a deep passion for concretely addressing climate change, both at the personal and collective level to ensure long-term sustainability for the planet. Someone with a firm ambition to make a solid personal contribution, and be highly excited by this excellent opportunity to do so.

- The candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who has the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and will enjoy working in a virtual but collaborative and diverse environment.

- Effective communicator and collaborator who is able to manage time, prioritise activities and accomplish tasks with minimal oversight.

- Highly organised, task-driven and detail-oriented to successfully plan and manage multiple tasks to deliver quality results within tight timeframes.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Collaborative working style and experience of working across teams.

- Project administration and coordination experience, as well as excellent research and organisational skills.

- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and strategic thinking capabilities coupled with an outcome, delivery-oriented approach required.

- Fluency in either Spanish OR Portuguese is essential. Intermediary reading proficiency in English is required.

- Intermediate knowledge of Excel with command of basic formulas and functions.

- Experience in transportation is desirable but not essential.

- Experience in producing and disseminating communication materials is desirable.

- Experience in working across different cultures is desirable.

- Prior experience in the not for profit sector organisation is desirable.


Time Commitment: 20 hours / week
