About the Organization:

Solar Sister trains and supports women to deliver clean energy directly to homes in rural African communities. We provide essential services and training that enable women entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses in their own communities. We currently have operations in Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania.

Fellowship Description:

The person in this position will assist the CEO in shepherding through a significant redesign of the Solar Sister website. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to work with every department within the organization and learn how the different departments work together towards the organization’s overarching goals.

Responsibilities include:
- In collaboration with design experts, test new structures, layouts, formats in WordPress
- Track progress and provide updates on critical organizational initiatives like the upcoming website redesign and ensure that all appropriate staff are involved in these processes
- Liaise with stakeholders across the organization to collate information, decision points, and options and present to the CEO
- Communicate decisions, concerns, and challenges to supporting experts
- Provide administrative support as needed


Qualifications:

Ability to work independently on self-led projects with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to present complex information, orally or in writing, concisely
Experience with organizing logistics and coordinating details with multiple departments and stakeholders
Experience with WordPress or similar platforms
- Familiarity with the field of climate change, women’s economic empowerment, or energy access
- Knowledge of user experience concepts, program management, or communications preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace, especially Excel/ Google Sheets.
- Current student in a higher education institution or recent graduate
- Fluent in English


Time Commitment:  25 hours / week
